RESCUEGROUPS.ORG (RGO)
Fosters need to become familiar with ASVTs database to update their foster animal's descriptions. ASVT uses a database called RGO (RescueGroups.org) to track its animals. RGO forwards information about available adoptable animals to adoption websites such as Petfinder.com, AdoptAPet.com and at least 50 other sites.
Below are basic instructions to login and edit Animal and Contact records in RGO.

Account: 7261
User name: sent via email
Password: Temporary password sent via email

Home screen: the Blue Bar:

1. Home: Search Site, Add a New…, Recent Updates, My Rescue, Quick Links, Help and Support
2. Animals: Animal List, Add an Animal, Adoptions, Intakes
3. Contacts: Contact List, Add a Contact, User Login Accounts
4. Website: Not used by ASVT
5. Features: Email (not used by ASVT), Submitted Forms (Adoption, Foster, Volunteer Applications)
6. Reports: Preset and custom reports
7. Services: For use by RGO Administrators​

The first time you login (From Home Page):

1. Update password (My Settings, Change Password)
2. Update Email and Messaging (My Settings, Email Alerts or Messaging Center)
   1. ​Email Alerts: "Email Me" for My Foster Animal's Online Forms Submissions.​ Recommend “Don’t Email Me” for all other options
   2. ​Messaging Center: Recommend “Don’t Send” for all options
3. Update your contact information (Search Site, Enter Last Name, Choose Contacts, Go!)
   1. ​Select your name
   2. Select Edit button at bottom of page
   3. DO NOT CHANGE THESE FIELDS - Active, Send Mail (Yes), Allow Public View (No), Groups
   4. Select Save when complete

To Print Kennel Card (From Home Page):

1. Select: My Fosters (the number is how many active fosters are assigned to you), Select: Name of Animal
2. Select Kennel Card from options at top of Animal record page
3. A new window will open with Kennel Card. Click to Print at upper right corner.
4. See below to update Animal information printed on kennel card.​

To update Animal record (From Home Page): Select: My Fosters (the number is how many active fosters are assigned to you), Select: Name of Animal
To add photos: Select Manage Media from options at top of Animal record
To update Animal information: Select Edit button at bottom of page
Basic Information, Personality and Behavior, Compatibility: Update to best of knowledge

• Status: May be Intake, Hold, Pending, Available. 
• Only Available will post animal on adoption websites.
• Foster may change status to Pending when animal has been adopted.
• DO NOT CHANGE STATUS TO ADOPTION. An administrator will change.

Most Important - Provide a very brief description.

• ​Keep description upbeat and fun. Issues can be discussed when adopter meets animal.
• May want to include age, weight, breed, gender in description.
• Descriptions written from pet's point of view are cute.

Administrative Information: Required Fields: Received Date, Rescue ID, Foster Name, Location, Location Public

• Rescue ID - DO NOT CHANGE
• Location Public - SELECT NO. If YES selected, some adoption websites will indicate animal is available at foster's home location. ASVT wants your information kept private.
• Adoption Options, Euthanasia Information, Custom Animal Groups Membership, Export Accounts Selection - DO NOT CHANGE
• Additional Notes and Comments: These notes do not get sent to adoption websites or appear on kennel cards.

Media: Please see item #2 above to add photos
Select Save when complete.
