Surrendering your pet to the shelter should be your last resort. The local shelters are at or near capacity on a daily basis. Unfortunately surrendered pets are usually the first animals to be euthanized when animal shelters are full. We need your help to keep animals out of the shelter and in homes.

Before you bring your pet to the shelter, please try the following:
1. Try rehoming your pet on your own. 2. Contact friends, family and colleagues and ask for help. 3. Be selective and require an application and fee to prevent your pet from being used as bait for dog fighters. 4. Local rescue groups can often assist, depending on space and resources. Contact ASVT at [email protected] to discuss ways we may be able to help. ASVT IS UNABLE TO ACCEPT NEW PETS INTO OUR RESCUE WITHOUT A COMMITTED FOSTER HOME. |
