LOST & FOUND

AND MICROCHIP REGISTRIES
If You Are Missing a Pet
  • Place food, water and clothing or bedding that smell familiar to the pet outside to lure them home.
  • If your pet has a microchip, contact the microchip company to let them know your pet is lost and to make sure your contact information is current. Microchips can be registered online at www.freepetchipregistry.com.
  • Personally go to both of the local shelters (addresses on Animal Shelter/Animal Control page) and ask to see the recently arrived pets. DO NOT CALL, they will not be able to help you.
If You Found a Pet
  • Check for a microchip. Local animal shelters, veterinarian clinics, Petsmart or Petco stores generally have microchip scanners.
  • ASVT has a microchip scanner. please email us at [email protected] to arrange a time to meet.
There are numerous websites, including Nextdoor.com, and Facebook pages such as "Lost and Found Pets in Conroe, Cut n Shoot, Willis Area", that allow lost and found pets to be posted.
Put posters up around where the pet was lost or found. Visit PawBoost.com for a poster template.
Take a poster to the local animal shelters for their lost and found bulletin board.
If You Found a Wild Animal
  • Contact Friends of Texas Wildlife, www.ftwl.org. (281) 259-0039
  • The Information page on their website has important information on what to do if you find a wild animal.
