THE FOLLOWING SERVICES/PRODUCTS ARE COVERED BY THIS VOUCHER PROGRAM.
A Basic Vet Exam (preoperative blood work is not included)
Spay or Neuter Surgery
A 24-hour Pain Management Injection During Surgery
For Female animals only: Two Days of Take Home Pain Management
A Microchip with Lifetime Basic Registration
A Rabies Vaccination (If Needed)
An E-Collar (If Desired)
SERVICES WILL BE PERFORMED AT TEXAS LITTER CONTROL, A NON-PROFIT VETERINARY HOSPITAL AND CLINIC. ASVT WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLICATIONS AFTER SURGERY ARISING FROM:
The pet owner not following Texas Litter Control's Pre-Op and/or Post-Op Instructions
The pet owner's lack of oversight and/or care
The pet licking the surgery site/sutures due to a missing E-collar.
The pet not being properly vaccinated prior to surgery.
RABIES VACCINATIONS ARE REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR DOGS AND CATS 4 MONTHS OF AGE OR OLDER. Texas Litter Control requires you bring your pet's RABIES CERTIFICATE (Tags are not legal proof of vaccination) as proof of vaccination. If your pet's rabies vaccination is not up-to-date or you don't have a rabies certificate on the date of surgery, the vaccination will be given at the time of surgery. ASVT covers the cost of the vaccination as part of our Program.
CORE VACCINATIONS AND FLEA PREVENTIVES ARE RECOMMENDED BY ASVT AND TEXAS LITTER CONTROL. Although up-to-date core vaccinations are not required by Texas Litter Control, they are highly encouraged to help avoid infectious diseases as your pet will be in close proximity to other animals at the clinic. If fleas are found on your pet during surgery, Texas Litter Control will treat with Capstar and you will be charged.
AN E-COLLAR IS RECOMMENDED TO PREVENT YOUR PET FROM LICKING THE SURGERY SITE/SUTURES
ASVT will cover the cost of an E-Collar as long as it is available at the Texas Litter Control location where the surgery is being performed.
If there are no E-collars available on the day of surgery, it will be the Pet Owner's responsibility to provide one for their pet.
PREOPERATIVE BLOOD WORK IS NOT PERFORMED BY TEXAS LITTER CONTROL ON THE DAY OF SURGERY. If your pet is healthy and does not have a high risk condition, preoperative blood work is usually not needed. If you wish to have blood work performed at your expense prior to surgery, you can contact Texas Litter Control to schedule a Wellness appointment prior to the surgery.
TEXAS LITTER CONTROL WILL NOT PERFORM SURGERY ON HIGH RISK PETS. High risk conditions include but are not limited to the following:
Pets who are pregnant or in heat
Extremely underweight or overweight pets(more than 115 lbs)
6 years of age or older
Pets with heart problems, upper respiratory illnesses or skin conditions such as mange
Pets with previous abdominal surgeries (C-sections)
"NO SHOWS" (FAILURE TO CANCEL OR KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT) MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THIS PROGRAM WITH NO REFUND.
"No Shows" cause serious financial damage to Texas Litter Control.
Texas Litter Control has raised their prices three times recently as a result of too many missed appointments.
A missed appointment prevents another pet from getting surgery and affects ASVTs reputation with Texas Litter Control.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify ASVT at least 3 days prior to your appointment.
You may be disqualified from our program with no refund for failure to cancel your appointment without proper notice or if ASVT has to reschedule your appointment more than once.
I have read the Important Pet Owner Information above and understand my responsibilities. I understand what the ASVT Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for Low Income Community Members does and does not include.
